4 Best tumblers Tested and Reviewed

You can keep your favorite iced beverage cool on long vehicle rides and transport your morning coffee spill-free with the help of an excellent insulated tumblers. There are also tumblers made especially for sipping wine outside without shattering a glass; they include large-capacity options like Stanley Cup dupes and kid-friendly models with leak-proof straws and lids.

What distinguishes a water bottle from a tumbler, though? Unlike narrow bottles, tumblers often have a wider mouth and a cup-like form. Tumblers are made to accommodate a range of hot and cold liquids, but water bottles are easiest to clean when filled with water. While some feature straws that hold their position or fold down for portability, others have handles and tiny spouts for sipping.

Every year, thousands of goods linked to beverages are tested by our team of experts in the Kitchen Appliances and Innovation Lab. I have tested more than forty tumblers myself over the last few months. In order to find out how much our consumer testers enjoyed using their tumblers in practical situations, I also collaborated with them. These tumblers are the best in terms of maintaining temperature, being simple to use, being adaptable, and much more.

  • Material: Stainless Steel
  • Capacity: 1.3 Pounds
  • Volume: 9.12 Ounces
  • What’s Included: Lid and Straw

The tumblers from Simple Modern are conveniently priced and have passed our lab testing with flying colors. This simple modern style is ideal for those like myself who want to use it for both hot and iced coffee at different times, since it comes with two distinct lids: one that is straw-equipped and leak-proof (as verified by lab testing). In our laboratory tests, the bottom did damage quite a bit, and some paint chipped off. For that reason, I just advise holding on to it carefully.

To further increase this model’s versatility, this tumbler can also be used with a cocktail shaker cover, which is available for separate purchase. For the purposes of this tale, we only tried the 20-ounce version, although there are three more sizes available: 16-, 24-, and 28-ounces available in a range of entertaining colorways and patterns.

Pros:

  • includes two distinct lids.
  • Leak-proof lid

Cons:

  • Tumbler’s bottom chipped and dented after being dropped

Best for Travel

Owala Stainless Steel Triple Layer Insulated Tumbler

Owala Stainless Steel Triple Layer Insulated Tumbler
  • Material: Lead-free, phthalate-free, and made of stainless steel
  • Volume: 40 oz
  • What’s Included: A tumbler with a spill-proof lid, a straw, and a carry handle
  • Care: Dishwasher-safe lid, hand-washable cup

Owala’s insulated tumblers comes in a delightful assortment of colors and has two ways to be used for drinking: using the straw that comes with it or taking a sip through the lid. I really enjoy using this tumbler at my desk for drinking water because it is pleasant to use and handle, unlike other tumblers I’ve tried. It contains a lot of water. I enjoy using it for my iced coffee as well. Over a 24-hour period, its temperature retention performance was not too bad; however, it lost its ice over the course of a workday.

Other lab testing also revealed that Owala’s Insulated Travel Tumbler worked admirably. When the tumbler was tapped on its side, the straw remained intact, in contrast to other tumblers that spilled everywhere. It’s important to remember that the tumbler will leak if you do that. Furthermore, after drop testing, the tumblers only had a small damage.

Pros:

  • There are two ways to sip from the lid.
  • Most leaks are prevented with straw.

Cons:

  • The tumbler underwent drop tests with a little dent.

Best Large

Stanley Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler

Stanley Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler
  • Material: stainless steel and tritan plastic recycled
  • Volume: 40 ounces
  • Included: Plastic straw with detachable lid
  • Care: Dishwasher safe

The fact that this insulated tumbler made our list may not surprise you, but there are a number of factors at play besides just its immense popularity. With only one refill, the Stanley Quencher FlowState’s massive 40-ounce capacity meets all of your hydration needs. While moving your body by getting up and walking to the water cooler is a terrific idea, let’s face it—we don’t always do it as often as we should. This ensures that you will always have water on hand, especially when traveling or running several errands at once. The vacuum-insulated construction keeps the contents hot or cold for hours at a time, and it can store ice cubes for a minimum of one day.

The most noticeable design features of the massive tumbler are its handle and a tapered base that’s shaped to fit into any cup holder. This means we can carry it around comfortably from our desks to the gym to our cars, where it sits comfortably during the drive. The sturdy handle especially makes it so easy to lift and carry. The lid is fitted with a reusable straw and is adjustable so left-handed people can also use it comfortably. Hate handwashing and air-drying water bottles? Us too! These are dishwasher safe, so we can finally keep our water bottles squeaky clean and not skirt around the task.

The Stanley Quencher FlowState is quite flexible; however, there are a few drawbacks. If you wish to take the tumbler on lengthy walks, its convenient size can be a hassle to start. Furthermore, since it is not spill-proof, you cannot simply toss it into your bag. It was difficult to drink from, and occasionally the contents leaked while using the aperture in the lid, which allows you to drink without a straw.

Pros:

  • vehicle cupholders compatible
  • Easy to clean
  • keeps liquids warm or cold for many hours.
  • dependable handle

Cons:

  • Not watertight
  • possibly feel weighty
  • The drinking spout hurts.
